The Subir & Malini Chowdhury Center for Bangladesh Studies at UC Berkeley is delighted to welcome Professor of Finance and Director, BBA Program, School of Business at Independent University Bangladesh Dr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed.

Speaker Bio
Sarwar Uddin Ahmed is a Professor of Finance and Director, BBA Program, School of Business, Independent University, Bangladesh. His research interests include environmental finance, green banking, corporate social performance, capital market, and relationship banking. An avid researcher, Dr. Ahmed has authored over 75 articles, book chapters, reports and conference papers. He has jointly published three books: Cost-benefit Analysis (Springer 2006), Corporate Social Performance (LAP 2012), and Financial Management (Brothers 2015). Dr. Ahmed has a Ph.D. from Nagasaki University, Japan. He will be in residence in UC Berkeley in Fall 2018 on a Fulbright Fellowship to conduct research at the Haas School of Business.

Established in 2013 with a generous gift from the Subir & Malini Chowdhury Center for Bangladesh Studies at UC Berkeley champions the study of Bangladesh’s cultures, peoples and history. The first of its kind in the US, the Center’s mission is to create an innovative model combining research, scholarships, the promotion of art and culture, and the building of ties between institutions in Bangladesh and the University of California.
