In this talk, Dr. Choi Chatterjee will analyze Tolstoy and Tagores complex understanding of the natural world and how it shaped the development of their life, literature, and politics. A century ago, Tolstoy and Tagore argued that rather than conserve nature, it is important that we align ourselves to the natural world through production (bread labor), sensory immersion, cultural imagination, and spiritual practice.
