Join us for a talk by Dr. Hanif Qureshi, the Inspector General of Police in Haryana. He is also a criminologist who has written extensively on the Indian police. His ongoing research work revolves around "rape myths," with a particular focus on the reasons Indian police officers turn away complainants of sexual violence.

About the Speaker
Dr. Hanif Qureshi, IPS, is an Indian Police Service officer, and his articles have appeared in Criminal Justice Studies and other American journals. An engineer by training, he completed MBA and Ph.D. (Criminal Justice) from the University of Cincinnati, USA, where he also taught for 2 years. His research interests are police legitimacy, crime prevention, OCBs, rape myths, organizational justice, and work-family conflict. Currently, he is working on rape myths and developing performance metrics for police agencies.
