Ahmedabad University is a young and growing private research university in Ahmedabad in India and was established in 2009. The vision of Ahmedabad University is to be a high calibre research university which offers broad-based and intensive undergraduate programs along with strong research-oriented graduate programs.

The University is hiring multiple tenure-track faculty in each of the following disciplines:

  • Biological and Life Sciences
  • Humanities and Languages
  • Mathematical & Physical Sciences
  • Social Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Performing and Visual Arts
  • Public Health
  • Business

The University is open to recruiting faculty of all nationalities, and its faculty include citizens of the United States, Canada, Japan and Iran. Learn more about academic opportunities in India and at Ahmedabad University at this information session from Professor Raghavan Rangarajan, Dean of Arts and Sciences. Professor Rangarajan was earlier a faculty member at the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad. He obtained his PhD in Physics at the University of California at Santa Barbara and his bachelor’s degree at Princeton University. He will be joined by Professor Devanath Tirupati, Executive Provost. Professor Tirupati was earlier a faculty member at IIM Ahmedabad and then IIM Bangalore. Prior to that he was a tenured faculty member at the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his PhD at the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and his earlier degrees were from IIM Calcutta and IIT Madras.

This event is open to PhD students, alumni, and post-docs from across UC Berkeley.

Event moderated by Anirban Gupta-Nigam, Associate Director, Institute for South Asia Studies, will serve as discussant.
