In a rare and unexpected development, the highly-regarded professional gamelan and shadow puppet ensemble Sari Laras from Java, will perform with the UC Berkeley Javanese gamelan group Sari Raras. There hasn’t been an opportunity to see a wayang kulit group from Java in the Bay Area since the 1990s.
