The South Asian Political Economies Initiative supports research collaborations and public programs with the aim of better understanding emergent, interlocking crises in South Asia—climate change, social inequality, majoritarian politics etc.—through the lens of political economy. Taking an expansive view of political economy, the Initiative is especially interested in foregrounding analyses of the way neofeudal and pre/para/non-modern social formations (caste, kinship, gender) structure South Asian capitalisms.
