Taymour Soomro is a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for South Asia Studies for 2020. During his UC Berkeley residency, Taymour will continue work on a novel and critical research exploring representations of queerness and masculinities in Pakistan.

Taymour is a British Pakistani writer. He read law at Cambridge University and Stanford Law School. He is currently a Chase doctoral fellow in creative/critical writing at the University of East Anglia. His short fiction has been published in The New Yorker, The Southern Review and Ninth Letter. He has published a textbook on law with Oxford University Press and has written extensively for the Pakistani news media.
