Speaker Bio
Farhat Hasan is Professor of Medieval and Early Modern South Asian History at the Department of History, University of Delhi. He earned his doctorate from the University of Cambridge in 1997. He is the author of Paper, Performance and the State: Social Change and Political Culture in Mughal India( Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2021) and State and Locality in Mughal India: Power Relations in Western India, c.1572-1730 ( Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2005). The latter was short-listed by the International Convention of Asian Scholars (ICAS), based at the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS), Leiden for the best book (on Asia) prize in the discipline of Humanities
