'Salam - The First ** Nobel Laureate

  5 - 7 p.m.
Anna Head Alumnae Hall (Off Campus)

The Cal Pakistani Students Association and the Institute for South Asia Studies' Berkeley Pakistan Initiative are proud to host a screening of 'Salam - The First ** Nobel Laureate.'

The film is the definitive story of Abdus Salam, the first Pakistani to win the Nobel prize. It captures, in vivid detail, his life's journey—from a small village in Pakistan to worldwide scientific acclaim—and his fraught relationship with his homeland, where he faced rejection for being a member of the “heretical” Ahmadiyya movement.

Come out for an evening to commemorate one of Pakistan's most remarkable individuals, with a special Q&A session with the producers of this film, who have spent the past 14 years to bring Dr. Salam’s life to the big screen.
