Prof. Saba Mahmood passed away on March 10 after a prolonged battle with cancer. Prof. Mahmood, a powerful presence in the life of the Institute, played a key role in the creation of the Pakistan Studies Initiative and Urdu@Berkeley. We will all miss her profoundly.
