Talks by the recipients of the UC Berkeley South Asia Artist Award and the UC Berkeley South Asia Art and Architecture Dissertation Award for 2023

The South Asia Art Initiative at the Institute for South Asia Studies at UC Berkeley is thrilled to announce the names of the recipients of the UC Berkeley South Asia Artist Prize and the UC Berkeley South Asia Art & Architecture Dissertation Prize for 2023.

The South Asia Artist Prize for 2023 was awarded to BHASHA CHAKRABARTI, MFA candidate, Yale School of Art

The UC Berkeley South Asia Art & Architecture Dissertation Prize for 2023 was awarded to two recipients: SHIVANI SUD, Assistant Professor of Art History and Humanities, Art Department, Reed College, and MOHIT MANOHAR, Provost's Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Art History, The University of Chicago.

This year the Prize Committee also gave two honorable mentions: KANWAL SYED, Assistant Professor, Department of Arts and Sciences,, American University in Dubai and SAPTARSHI SANYAL, Assistant Professor of Architecture, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi
