BULPIP offers unique opportunity to become completely immersed in Urdu. Through specialized classes, office hours and one-one-one appointments with language professors, I was able to get the personalized tuition I needed to gain confidence in reading historical, often hand written texts that engaged with my academic and research interests. Living and studying at LUMS provided the added benefit of attending conferences, events and talks relevant to today's historical and historiographical debates. I met many people who will influence my work for years to come and thrived in a campus culture that was intellectually welcoming. - - Madiha Akhter, BULIP-APIS, 2014
