Dr. Zameerpal Kaur Sandhu is Associate Professor and Coordinator, Centre for Comparative Literature, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, Punjab, India whose research interests include Indian poetics, Sanskrit literature and literary theories and Eco-criticism including study of environment and literature.

Dr. Sandhu will be a visiting scholar at the Institute for Spring 2017. While at Berkeley, she will be working on a research project titled, "Ecological Knowledge and Wisdom of Ancient Indian Culture and Civilization in Modern Context: Ecocritical Study of Ancient Indian Literature" which relates to the study of ancient Indian texts especially the Vedas from an ecocritical and environmental perspective, in order to find relevance of ancient Indian culture, civilisation and ways of life in the modern context.
